SHIVA AS
A spinopelvic toolkit specialized for ankylosing spondylitis — the disease where the spine fuses progressively and the rules for alignment, optimization, and surgical correction diverge from the standard degenerative playbook. SHIVA AS adapts the deterministic SHIVA pipeline (typed inputs → typed outputs → sealed manifest) to the AS-specific landmark set, deformity patterns, and pathway constraints.

Generic spinopelvic measurement tools assume an articulated, flexible lumbar segment. In advanced AS the spine is rigid, the sagittal compensatory mechanisms collapse, and standard alignment targets stop being achievable without osteotomy. SHIVA AS encodes those differences explicitly rather than treating them as exceptions.
AS-specific landmarks
The standard landmark set includes anchors that lose meaning when vertebrae fuse. SHIVA AS exposes an alternative anchor set and flags inappropriate measurements.
Compensation collapse
In AS, lumbar lordosis is often fixed. The toolkit makes the loss of compensatory bandwidth visible rather than hiding it inside an aggregate score.
Osteotomy framing
Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy (PSO) and Smith-Petersen-type planning surfaces are first-class — not bolted on as edge cases.
Longitudinal follow-up
Disease activity, structural progression, and post-correction maintenance all happen over years. The data schema is longitudinal by design.
